7,300 Online E Commerce listings removed in 2024

With the rise of purchasing online for health supplements locally, there is also a rise in number of online sellers selling counterfeit health products.
Online platforms involved selling fakes or counterfeits included Amazon Singapore, Carousell, eBay Singapore, Facebook, Lazada, Qoo10, Shopee and TikTok.
In a statement on Feb 3 on its ongoing efforts to curb the sale and supply of illegal health products, HSA said the latest figures were a result of coordinated efforts involving targeted operations, intelligence sharing and joint enforcement with local and overseas agencies.
HSA warned that it will take stern enforcement action against those selling or supplying illegal health products. If convicted, sellers and suppliers of such products face up to three years in jail and a fine of up to $100,000.
Consumers are advised to follow the Alert acronym: Avoid dubious products, look for reputable sellers, examine claims, report suspicious products, and trust professional medical advice.
